Head of School Letter: Holiday Season

Head of School Letter

Today is the start of our winter vacation. My past three Ebytes articles have been about Thanksgiving, the interlude between then and now, the anticipation of looking ahead, and now, finally, the time of reflection and rejuvenation that comes with the holiday season.

The holiday season invites celebration and the opportunity to observe meaningful rituals. Loved ones gather together for familiar traditions. Customs and communities connect us to each other. It is the time of year when we recognize the gifts others bring into our lives. We convey how much our friends and family mean to us, whether by sharing a holiday card, a homemade item or a gift chosen with care. Counting down to the end of the year brings a sense of closure and accomplishment, as we bid farewell to 2023, a remarkable centennial year for Shorecrest.

However you choose to celebrate the holidays or recognize your family’s traditions, my wish is for a healthy and happy holiday season for all members of the Shorecrest family. Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you in 2024!

All the best,
Nancy
