On behalf of SCA, we want to thank the entire Shorecrest community for your incredible generosity to the 2020 Holiday Gift Drive! This year we were able to fulfill the holiday wish lists of 250 children in the Guardian ad Litem program, AND we were also able to donate funds to the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay to help cover ongoing needs of children throughout the year.
SCA’s Holiday Gift Drive is an event that truly takes the entire Shorecrest community to be successful; and our families were once again exceedingly generous. The Upper School Guardian ad Litem Club provided wrapped boxes throughout campus to collect gifts and helped greet the guardians as they drove onto campus; the Health and Safety Task Force worked with us to adapt the Gift Drive to make it as safe as possible for students and volunteers; the administration helped to coordinate the flow of students through the Athletic Center and keep track of the gifts as students brought them in; the operations and maintenance staff worked tirelessly to bring gifts to the Athletic Center on the final day; and our amazing volunteers once again made it all come together - through creating Sign Up Geniuses, gift checking and sorting, shopping for last minute missing items, greeting the guardians in our first ever drive-through “present pick up,” and running gifts from the Athletic Center to load into guardians’ cars. Thanks to all of you, there will be 250 children who are able to smile a little brighter this holiday season.
