Carbon Footprint Lesson with Chile

On November 30, seventh graders in Mr. Powers life science class Skyped with a professor at The University of Concepción in Chile. She is one of Mr. Powers’ former students and a soccer player he coached in Tampa. Two of her college freshman students created a lesson on Carbon Footprints for the Chargers to complete. They started with some worksheets on their iPads and discussed them in real-time with the college students.
After a few more activities over the next three weeks, the seventh grade will compare the Shorecrest community carbon footprint with that of a group in Chile.
