On Saturday, May 2nd, Middle School teachers Cindy Williams, Steve Collins, Melanie Jarvis, and Steve Brelsford, along with Lower School teacher Gaye Whitecage and Learning Center Director Tracie Belt, attended a one-day workshop in Tampa on Brain-Friendly Teaching.
Led by Dr. Spencer Kagan, the workshop integrated educational best practices with current research and discoveries in the field of cognitive neuroscience. All of the teachers are eagerly looking forward to sharing what they learned from Dr. Kagan with the rest of the school faculty. The four Middle School teachers who attended are all members of the Middle School Brain Research Professional Learning Community.
