Baseball Weekly Update
Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Basebsll vs. Carrollwood Day School: 3-5 Loss.
Chargers Baseball suffered a narrow loss against 5th ranked and undefeated Carrollwood Day School. The Varsity boys continue to play great baseball. Chris Booth ‘25 and Beau LeCain ‘27 both hit triples, with Booth collecting 2 total hits.
Varsity Basebsll vs. Largo HS: 1-4 Loss.
Chargers baseball came up short against 6A Largo at home. Shorecrest collected 5 hits including singles by Eli Thomas ‘25, Wes Ryan ‘25, Chris Booth ‘25, Carson Granese ‘25, and a double by Jake Diner ‘25.
Varsity Basebsll vs. Southeast HS: 12-1 Win!
Varsity baseball gave a dominating performance in a 12-1 victory over 5A Southeast in 5 innings. Cooper Register ‘25 pitched 4 innings giving up only 1 hit and 1 run. Jensen Hallock-Wishner ‘24 pitched the final inning to seal the victory. Seven Chargers batters combined to collect 10 total hits, and the defense didn’t commit a single error.
Varsity Basebsll vs. Calvary Christian: 0-10 Loss.
The Chargers came up short against nationally ranked Calvery Christian. The bats went cold as Shorecrest collected only 3 hits, including singles by Jake Diner ‘25 and Beau LeCain ‘27 and a double by Eli Thomas ‘25.
Varsity Basebsll vs. Anclote High School: 8-4 Win!
The bats came alive in the Chargers' 8-4 victory over Anclote, collecting a season high 14 hits. Eli Thomas ‘25 went 5 for 5 with 2 triples, and Wes Ryan ‘25 and Jake Diner ‘25 both had doubles. Chris Booth ‘25 and Carson Granese ‘25 collected 2 hits each. Cooper Register ‘25, Beau LeCain ‘27, and Jamie V ‘28 each had hits in the victory. On the mound Thomas recorded the win for Shorecrest and Register got the save closing the game, with Ed Sax ‘25 and LeCain pitching in relief.
Shorecrest Chargers Middle School Baseball vs. LCC: 3-5 Loss.
The Chargers lost a close, competitive game. They came back from a 4-0 deficit in the 6th inning, bringing the score to 4-3. However it wasn't enough to get the win, and the game ended in a 5-3 lost. Highlights included plays by Alex L. '29 from 3B to 1B and a big two-run double off the left field fence by Jamie V. '28.
