Mi Comunidad Spanish Project

Lower School News Lower School News

Fourth graders had fun with their final project in Spanish as they finished the unit “Mi Comunidad.” The Chargers learned vocabulary and expressions in Spanish about their community: places in the city, directions, jobs, basic needs of a community. Then each fourth grade class designed a map of their own city and created different buildings with recycled materials (hospital, panadería, tienda de ropa, aeropuerto, etc.)

Once the city was built, it was moved into the Weiss Family Pavilion. A remote controlled car was added as an oral activity. One student had to drive the car to a specific place in the city while a peer gave directions in Spanish to get there.
