Varsity Boys Basketball vs St. Stephens & IRC

At Thursday’s game we played the new team in our district, and we jumped to an 18-10 lead and 18-16 at the end of 1 quarter. We were not getting any takeaways with our pressure. Trying different line-ups, we started clicking in the 2nd quarter and heated up from 3. Colin H. continued his torrid pace and Devin F. made a 3-pointer to get things rolling. Devin G, who had been injured the last 4 games, proceeded to make his first 3, and Kent dropped in 2-3’s in a row. The flood gates opened!
Up 41-25 at half, we were still not pleased with our first half energy and came out with a renewed focus to start the 3rd. We then went on a 29-4 blitz in the 3rd quarter and everyone contributed in their roles. Final score 86-34. Four players in double figures, all 9 scored and all 9 had over a 10 efficiency rating, so it was a total TEAM effort in the end. It also didn’t hurt that we made 13 3-pointers (our old standard was we never lost when we make more than 10). Kent had 17, Devin F. had 16, Marcus had 14 and Devin G. had 12 on the night.

Chargers vs Indian Rocks Christian, 12/8, Win 94-46
It was nice to play in the Crisp Gym after the first 6 games were on the road. It was a district match-up against Indian Rocks. The Chargers came out focused from the tip and a sweet alley-oop dunk from Kent to Marcus set the tone early as the team rolled to an easy win.
Up 50-28 at half, the only questions remained, would we hit the century mark and would everyone score? Everyone scored, but the running clock slowed our scoring at the end. On the night Marcus had 26 points, 9 rebounds including a record 6 dunks, in one game and he only played 2 ½ quarters. Tyee set the temp early pushing the ball and dishing, he ended up with 8 assists, 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in a complete game. Colin added 13, Kent 12, Aundre and Devin F contributed with 9, Mitch had 8 and 5 rebounds as he continues to grow each game.
