Chargers Score 4th Football State Championship!
Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Football beat out Countryside Christian on Thursday, November 14 at the State Championship with a final score of 47-12!
This was the 4th consecutive State Championship for Chargers Football!! The team used another dominant performance on both sides of the ball to secure their victory. Countryside Christian entered the game averaging 41 points per game and yielding 15 points per game, but was dismantled by the Chargers' relentless defensive pressure and explosive plays on offense. The defensive front led the way with 7 sacks and 9 quarterback hurries, and overall the defense forced and recovered three fumbles, while intercepting the opponent's quarterback twice (Damarion Feaster '26 and Ed Mitchem '25). The offense continued it's consistent play as it amassed 450 yards of total offense.
Nickolas Bearden '25 led the way with 188 rushing yards (and a 75 yard touchdown) and 102 passing yards. Ed Mitchem '25 had another 100 yard game as he rushed for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The team completed another perfect season (11-0) and extended it's win streak to 41 games!
