Swim Chargers at the 2024 State Meet

Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Girls & Boys Swimming competed at the 1A State Meet last week. Overall the girls were 15th out of 44 teams and the Boys were 8th out of 46 teams.
Izzy Riva '27 earned first place / State Champ in the 500 Free, qualifying as All American and setting a Shorecrest school Record. She was also 3rd in the 200 Free with All-American Consideration and a new School Record.
The boys were awesome with Maddox Matyas '26 leading the team when he placed 7th in the 500 Free; and 8th in the 200 Free with a new School Record.
The Boys 200 Free Relay were 7th place and set a School Record (Anton Ho '26, Ethan Swann '26, Leonardo Ho '28, Maddox Matyas '26).
The Boys 400 Free Relay placed 9th (Anton Ho '26, Ryan Flugel '27, Maddox Matyas '26, Leonardo Ho '28).
Other competitors were the Girls 400 Free Relay (Izzy Riva '27, Izzy N. '29, Faylynn M. '29 & Amelia Daley '28), Anton Ho '26 in the 100 Fly, and Leonardo Ho '28 in the 100 Free & 200 Free.

To be named Scholastic All American, high school swimmers must have achieved an individual time equal to or faster than the Winter Juniors National time standards and have a minimum GPA of 3.5 during the qualifying period of September 1, 2023 – August 31, 2024. Only 1,790 students were selected nationwide by USA Swimming. We are so proud of you for working so hard both at school and in the pool!
