Shorecrest Swim & Dive concluded the regular season with a hurricane "Irmageddon" make-up meet that was re-scheduled for Tuesday night. It was named as such because of the many issues that happened at this meet and only this meet – bus issues, forgotten swimsuits, multiple swimmers and divers were sick and no dive coach due to miscommunication. But despite the roadblocks, the problems were solved and it was a nice finish to a very good season.
Congratulations to our boys team on another win. Leading them to victory with two relay wins were Misha, Pablo, Caleb and Joseph on both the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays. Individually winning their events were Pablo (200 Free), Caleb (200 IM & 100 Free), Misha (500 Free), and Joseph (100 Back). The girls put up a good fight despite missing a few of the team members to illness. The team was led by Sarah L. who took first place in the 100 Free.
Heading into the post-season it is worth mentioning that we have had multiple middle and varsity school records broken this year. Congratulations to Caleb Kravitz for his new varsity record in the 100 Fly with a 53.46 swum at the City Champ meet. Sarah L. has been taking down multiple Middle School records and now hold the new standards in the 50 Free (25.25), 100 Free (55.41), 500 Free (5:14.09), 50 Fly (29.63) and 100 IM (1:08.92). Joining her on the record board is Ainsley B. with a 35.03 in the 50 Breast and Jeremy B. with a 35.01 in the same event. Congrats to all on a job well done!
Completing their season this Saturday will be the Middle School team at the Middle School Championship Meet – Go Chargers!
