Chargers Softball regular season ends with 3 wins!

Shorecrest Varsity Softball had an exciting week to cap off a great regular season. With three wins, the Chargers were able to celebrate their five seniors and end the regular season on a winning streak.
Shorecrest 11, Keswick 0
Monday, Shorecrest took on Keswick, winning 11-0 in five innings. Asha Swann '21 pitched for the Chargers, pulling together 9 strikeouts and leading the team defensively.
Seventh grader Taylor R. led the offense with two doubles and three runs scored. Ashlee Burkett '19 also had a double and three runs scored. Jessica Jacobs '18 started a seven-run rally in the fifth inning to help the Chargers run-rule Keswick 11-0.
Shorecrest 18, Lakeside Christian 4
Tuesday, Shorecrest traveled to Lakeside and came home with an 18-4 win in five innings. Hannah Leary '18 pitched the win, earning six strikeouts.
Jessica started another seven-run rally in the fourth inning to help the Chargers run-rule Lakeside 18-4. Shannon O’Shea '18 led the offense with a single and a two-run homerun to right field in the fourth inning.
Shorecrest 15, Clearwater Central Catholic 3
Thursday, Shorecrest celebrated their five seniors: Hannah Leary, Jessica Jacobs, Shannon O’Shea, Sylvia Smith, and Karli McDonough. They have each made important contributions to Shorecrest Varsity Softball over the course of their high school careers, and we wish them luck as they head into their last weeks of high school and into college.
Shorecrest pulled off their third run-rule this week, winning 15-3 in five innings. Hannah pitched the win, earning an impressive eight strikeouts in just five innings. Jessica also contributed defensively and held her own at third base. Hannah led the offense with a double, two singles, a walk, and a 1.000 on base percentage. Karli also had a great day on offense with a double, a triple, a walk, and a 1.000 on base percentage, as well.
