Shorecrest Night with the Rowdies

Service News

As a proud sponsor of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Shorecrest students, faculty, families, alumni and friends attended Shorecrest Night with the Rowdies on Saturday, September 19, 2015.

The evening kicked-off with a family-friendly tailgate in the Al Lang Stadium parking lot hosted by SCA. Thank you so much to volunteer tailgate Chairs, Shorecrest parents Shirin and Brandon Vesely, who brought delicious food and fun games! Children also enjoyed face painting and a Meet & Greet / autograph session with a real Rowdies player.

As Chargers entered the stadium, they were presented with the National Anthem, performed by the Upper School a cappella group TrebleCrest.

Some students received Tshirts, some walked players out on the field, and others waited to high five players while Headmaster Mike Murphy determined which team would take the kick off with the evening's official coin toss

The game was part of September’s Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness month with the Rowdies. As such, at halftime Shorecrest Relay For Life student leadership participated in a check presentation from Upper School's first two week of fundraising for 2016 Relay For Life. The Shorecrest Relay date was presented to the crowd in a prerecorded halftime commercial as well.

And - to wrap up the fun - the Rowdies beat the Scorpions, 2-0!! The win was secured late on with Juan Guerra’s second goal of the season.

Shorecrest Faculty, Students and Families may purchase $10 General Admission and Lower Goal Reserved tickets to all 2015 home Rowdies matches. Visit rowdiessoccer.com and enter promo code SPS15 to buy yours, or call the Rowdies Sales Staff at 727-222-2000.
