This past Friday, six Shorecrest third graders and their parents joined Lower School Spanish teacher Señor Zamoff to help a local family, the Quintero Coronels, celebrate the dedication of their new Habitat for Humanity home.
The students delivered a Welcome Home gift basket to the family, consisting of items made by our third graders last year when they studied homes, discussed the issue of homelessness, and learned about Habitat for Humanity. The gift basket included drink coasters, key holders, a flower pot and a bird house. Third graders will continue to attend Habitat for Humanity home dedications in the months ahead, where they will continue to present families with gift baskets containing the items they made last year.
