As an extension of the Coastal Awareness Program, eighth grade student took third graders on a naturalist hike around the Native Classroom on the back of Shorecrest's campus.
The older students shared information they have learned during this past year to better inform the younger Chargers of species that are native and invasive to Florida. They shared information on Australian Pines, Brazilian Peppers, Simpson Stoppers, Silver Buttonwood, Long-Leaf Pines, Saw Palmettos, Cabbage Palms, Mangroves, Eagles, Osprey and more. Both groups enjoyed the time together.
