Constructing as a Team

Third graders worked on motor skills, communication skills and creativity together. In small groups, students were challenged with building the tallest structure they could from pipe cleaners. They started the challenge by having a planning conversation for their structure before their constructing time began. Then teams started building!
At one point, labor slowed down because they were allowed to use only one hand. This became an important lesson in communication and working together to accomplish a task.
