Upper School biology and anatomy teacher Lisa Peck came to teach the first grade about ocean animals. She began the talk with the simplest of all animals, sponges. Then explained how the development of more complex animals, like anemones, sea stars, coral, marine flat worms, rays and sharks grow in our oceans.
Ms. Peck compared the body parts and related all of the organisms back to our human body unit. Most importantly, she talked all about how scientists today are learning so much from ocean animals and how they can manufacture medicines to cure and treat diseases.
