Second Graders Study Plants Hands-On

Lower School News

Second graders have been gardening as part of their unit on plants. The best way to learn about the growth and development of plants is hands-on! They planted various vegetables including tomatoes, squash, beans, kale, peppers, and various herbs including different varieties of mint, basil, coriander, cilantro and lavender in the Lower School garden.

Each day the students tend the garden and journal about the changes that are occurring in the growth of the plants. Stay tuned to find out about what the second graders plan to do with the vegetables and herbs once harvested!
