Cross Country Varsity Girls Win City Meet

On Thursday, October 8, the Charger cross country teams competed in the St. Petersburg City Championship with 11 other teams from within the city limits.

The girls team emerged victorious as team champions - led by junior Olivia R. who was also the individual champion with a time of 19:53. Eighth graders Isabelle S. and Sophia V. followed immediately behind to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively at 21:19 and 21:20. Also contributing to the team score were 7th grader Julia L. - 12th place with 22:45 and senior Peninah B. - 14th place with 22:59. 6th grader Sabrina A., freshman Lily S., sophomore Elizabeth H. and 7th grader Rachel F. filled the remaining spots on the championship team. Way to go girls!
 
The boys varsity team was led to a 2nd place finish by senior Luke P. who was the male individual champion with a time of 16:34. Also finishing in the top ten, senior Josh M. 9th place at 18:21. 
 
The JV boys had two top ten finishers - freshman Aidan S. who was 5th at 20:23 and 7th grader Gregory G. who was 8th at 21:08.
