Shorecrest had an original goal of 2,000 pounds of food donated to the Fall Food Drive, and as of the final collection we gathered a total of 6,232 pounds of food, tripling our goal!
This is fantastic news for our partner, St. Petersburg Free Food Clinic and the people it helps every single day. In Pinellas county there are roughly 7,000 chronically hungry children, and you did your part to help them!
"We had so much, we had to keep it in the classrooms. The pile in the hallway was becoming a hazard." one Middle School teacher exclaimed. Thank you to all who donated and helped spread the word. We accomplished this as a community.
Remember, our fall Food Drive was held in conjunction with St. Pete's Got Talent. Fifth grader Alissa S won our talent show, and will continue on to St. Pete’s Got Talent at Jannus Live on November 12! The hula hoopers, "Hoop Troop", have also been asked to compete in St. Pete’s Got Talent! You can attend the show to support your Chargers. All funds raised are for charities in our community. To purchase tickets, visit www.stpetesgottalent.com.
