The Night the Band Went Green [video, photos]

Fourth grade rocked the stage this week for friends, Chargers and family in "The Night the Band Went Green." The show was a tale of the night before a rock band's last-chance gig - when suddenly their tour bus breaks down. As they set up a sloppy camp to sleep overnight in the woods, enchanted creatures emerge: plastic bottles, banana skins, light bulbs and even a rusted SUV - and they can sing! The unexpected guests offer great advice to the rockers on how to change their behavior, save the band and help the environment.

Not only did the production allow our students to focus on public speaking and performing arts, it tied in perfectly with their year-long study of trash, composting and the environment.
