Rays Day in First Grade

Charger dad Augie Ribeiro visited Mrs. Owen's first grade classroom on Shorecrest Lower School's Rays Day to pump everyone up for opening day! He brought Evan "Longo" Longoria's autographed bat to share and gave the students Rays pencils. He explained that MLB players are often known by nicknames, and gave each student a nickname, such as Trey Terrific, Kyle the Crusher, Cate the Great.
Mr. Ribeiro compared first grade to a baseball team where it's important that the players (or the students) listen and learn from the coach (or the teacher). He inspired each student to work hard, try their best, never give up, and have fun! Lessons for life!
