Huff and Puff Challenge

Lower School News

Shorecrest second graders recently completed a fairy tale unit. To augment their learning Mrs. Smay, the LS Media Specialist, had students participate in the Huff and Puff Challenge. You may remember the wolf who tried to blow down the homes of the Three Little Pigs by huffing and puffing; this makerspace activity had students construct a small model home that could not be blown down. They designed, invented, analyzed, and built structures that fulfilled a functional objective while considering the limitations imposed. Their completed projects were tested with two hair dryers. The students had a blast working in small groups as engineers!
