Jasmine Marcus '25 Wins Gold & Silver Medals in National Scholastic Art Awards
Student artist Jasmine Marcus '25 won both a National Gold Medal and a National Silver Medal in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition. More than 110,000 students from across the nation entered 310,000 original works this school year in the annual competition. Jasmine and her visual arts teacher, Charla Gaglio, are invited to attend the Scholastic Art & Writing National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City to receive the National Gold Medal, the competition's top honor.
Jasmine's painting "Big Bite" won a Gold Medal and her painting "Headache" won a Silver Medal. The criteria used to blind-adjudicate her works by a panel of art judges were Originality, Technical Skill and Personal Voice.
Award-winning works will be posted to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards’ 2025 online gallery this summer.
