SPOTLIGHT ON: Camp Family, 1923 Society Celebration Sponsors

Contributing Chargers Advancement

Shorecrest’s Mission is augmented by the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni, community sponsor and friends who support the school philanthropically or by effecting change locally, globally or right here at Shorecrest. We call these community members Contributing Chargers. We are pleased to spotlight Jenny and Ryan Camp who are Lower School parents, owners of Harrington Air Conditioning, and this year’s sponsors of the 1923 Society Celebration.

The Camp Family has made it a family affair to support Shorecrest with their time, talent and philanthropic support. Since joining the Shorecrest community last year, Jenny is involved in SCA, and together the Camps have supported two events as Community Sponsors by way of their family owned company. Grandparents Connie and Randy Camp are also actively involved in both the Grandparent Council and Helping Hands.

Ryan shared why it is important for their family to be Contributing Chargers.

“Shorecrest is important to my family because we feel this is a stepping stone to the foundation that my wife and I try to instill in our daughter. [Being part of a school community] with a mission and vision that aligns with our beliefs allows us to have similar goals and alignment for the future.

“The Shorecrest community, in many ways, makes a home feel truly like a home. Shorecrest has always been welcoming and we have met so many great families in addition to the faculty and staff. This has given our family so many things to be thankful for as our daughter Avery ‘34 grows and develops in such a wonderful atmosphere.

“Giving to this community means being able to better the lives, programs and overall being to enrich the health of the community and support those around us. The gifts that we have given have a much broader meaning – from supplemental programs to economic support of families less fortunate. It also has the ability to support the faculty in programs they believe would help enrich our daughter and other children's lives. The world is changing and evolving so much with technology that it will allow for the school to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to the needs of the mission.”

The impact of Contributing Chargers, like the Camp Family, along with other members of our community, can be felt every day.
