Five Shorecrest Seniors Earn National College Board Recognition
Shorecrest seniors Logan Chang '24, Alexander Diaz '24, Isabella Hursey '24, Julia Jaramillo '24 and Sofia Winer '24 have been recognized by the College Board's National Recognition Programs for outstanding performance on the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
Logan Chang '24 earned a National African American Recognition Award by the College Board. Seniors Alexander Diaz, Isabella Hursey, Julia Jaramillo and Sofia Winer each earned the College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Awards.
The College Board’s National Recognition Programs are academic honors awarded to exceptional students among populations that are often underrepresented at the university level. Award winners have scored in the top 10 percent of the state on the PSAT or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP exams by their junior year. To qualify, they must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Students can include the academic honor in college and scholarship applications. The program also helps students connect with universities and scholarship programs across the country by sharing their achievements in the College Board Student Search Service.
