Swimming and Diving Weekly Update

Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Swimming & Diving competed at a multi-team Invitational Meet. The boys earned 2nd place out of 17 teams. The girls took 4th place out of 18 teams.
The boys 400 Free Relay was 2nd to very strong St. Andrews (Boca Raton) team. Maddox Matyas '26 won the 500 Free and was 2nd in the 200 Free. His 200 Free time of 1:43.07 broke the school record held by Adam Moody from 2004! Leonardo H. '28 broke two Middle School records in the 50 and 100 Free events. Aziz T. '28 was 2nd in the diving competition.
Sasha Schratwieser '24 won both the 200 and 500 Free freestyle events and Izzy Riva '27 won the 200 Individual Medley.
"This was definitely some of the best swimming of the season against District, Region and State competition," Coach Patty shared. "The Chargers did incredibly well and we feel that we are well set for the remaining meets of the season and continued success in the State Series."
Shorecrest Chargers Middle School Swimming competed in a multi-team meet. It was another fantastic job by the boys team and the girls had some excellent, fast swims to cap off another Middle School success. The boys got 1st place (367 points) and the girls were 5th (115 points). The boys 200 Medley Relay took first place and the Mixed 400 Free Relay placed first and second. Leonardo H. '28 won the 100 IM & 50 Back, Milan S. '28 won the 100 Free & 50 Breast, Stepan S. '30 won the 50 Free, Jack D. '28 won the 50 Fly, and Eli A. '29 won the 200 Free. Izzy N. '29 won the 50 Free. Leonardo H. '28 broke the Middle School 100 IM record with a time of 1:02.16!
Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Swimming & Diving vs. Tampa Prep
Girls: Shorecrest 90, Tampa Prep 189 (Loss); Boys: Shorecrest 209, Tampa Prep 77 (Win!). The girls had some excellent swims despite the loss to a very strong Tampa Prep team. The boys dominated in every single event even though most of them were swimming in events they do not usually swim.
The Shorecrest boys won all three relays. Izzy Riva '27 won the 200 & 100 Free, Amelia D. '28 won the 500 Free, Sasha Schratwieser '24 won the 50 Free; Jake Diner '25 won 200 Free, Jack D. '28 won 200 IM, Anton Ho '26 won the 50 Free, Maddox Matyas '26 won the 100 Fly & 100 Back, Michael Mizrahi '27 won the 100 Free, William Brockman '24 won the 500 Free & 100 Breast.
