Contributing Chargers: Dr. Kenyon Fort of St. Petersburg Oral Surgery & Implants
Shorecrest’s Mission is augmented by the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends who support the school philanthropically or by effecting change locally, globally or right here at Shorecrest. We call these community members Contributing Chargers.
Dr. Kenyon Fort of St. Petersburg Oral Surgery & Implants was excited to offer his support as a sponsor of the 2023 Shore to Shorecrest 5K presented by Woodie's Wash Shack. He was looking forward to, “interacting with students, faculty, and parents” at this inaugural event.
Dr. Fort and his wife Dr. Toni Jeffrey-Fort (of The Family Dental Boutique) are parents of two Shorecrest alumni, Kofi ‘17 and Natalie ’19, both of whom are Lifers. The Fort family has been a part of the Shorecrest community since 2003, contributing their time, talent, and philanthropic support to Shorecrest, including Toni's role as a Trustee from 2015-2020. Their unwavering support and generosity have helped Shorecrest thrive, and the school community is grateful for their contributions and involvement.
We asked Dr. Kenyon Fort to share their family’s Contributing Chargers story and explain why they find it important to give back to Shorecrest by way of corporate sponsorship and philanthropy.
“What I enjoy most about being a part of the Shorecrest community is the school’s commitment to education,” he explained. “I can honestly say my kids were well-prepared academically for college and overall had a good experience during their Shorecrest years. There is a common thread of excellence in education.”
Even as an alumni family without a current student enrolled at Shorecrest, Dr. Fort and his family continue to contribute to the School philanthropically. He shared, “Giving to the community allows me to be a part of the dynamic process of providing a world-class education for students at Shorecrest. The contribution will continue to enhance the educational experience that Shorecrest provides. The methods for educating students are ever-changing, especially with the influence of technology.”
When asked what he looks forward to as Shorecrest steps into its second century, Dr. Fort said, “In the next century, I look forward to seeing Shorecrest’s growth. I imagine there will be plans to increase the footprint – in new buildings, athletic facilities and curriculum. In addition, I look forward to growth in diversity in the student body and faculty.”
