Last Wednesday, Jennifer Anderson, representing MORE HEALTH, visited a selction of Shorecrest Upper School health classes to do a presentation on how teens can avoid many common accidents.
MORE HEALTH is a nonprofit educational organization that offers free programs to schools in the Tampa Bay area. Ms. Anderson used interactive tools to show the students how easily it is to be distracted behind the wheel and how dangerous alcohol can be. She shared statistics on injury and fatalities and pictures of injured people resulting from texting while driving and not wearing seat belts.
At the end of the presentation, students wore simulated intoxication goggles. The classes felt that the message and method were very effective.
