Shorecrest Upper School Student Council members spent some of their free periods putting together goodie bags for guests of Sunshine Center in downtown St. Petersburg. Sunshine Center is a multi-service center where seniors gather for support, socialization, fitness and other services for older people in the St. Petersburg community. During the holidays the center offers meals, groceries and companionship for seniors who may be alone, on a low fixed income or homeless during the holidays.
The goodie bags from the Shorecrest students include toiletry items, snacks and other small gifts. Shorecrest Upper School also partners with Sunshine Center during Service Week to teach residents computer and technology skills.
