Top Youth Angler at Wild West Kingfish Tournament Series

Upper School News

Kyle Corey ‘21 won the Top Youth Angler Award at many of the Wild West events over the past several years. Recently, he once again gained this top award. Before the awards ceremony, Kyle said that he had won the award so many times that he wanted someone else to have the chance to win, and asked that the prize be given to the child who was in second place.

“Not many kids would do something like this and it definitely shined through as a true example of sportsmanship.” said a member of the Wild West Kingfish Tournament Series.

One of Kyle’s teammates commented, “Kyle has always had a passion for fishing, and about four years ago I started inviting him along to fish these kingfish tournaments. Like everything else he does in fishing, he picked it up quickly. It has been a pleasure to see him excel in the sport and he is a true sportsman. The future is bright!”

“I’m so impressed by this young man every time I interact with him! Nice work Kyle! Congrats on the win and kudos to your constant kindness,” a fellow fisherman said.
