Sailing at SAISA Keelboat Qualifier & South Points 2

The Shorecrest Sailing Chargers have been busy the past few weekends with some great results!
The team participated in the SAISA Keelboat Qualifier on October 13. Skippered by Heather Kerns '20, with Elizabeth Shanahan '19, Ethan Danielson '22 & Guthrie Braun '22 as crew, the team finished 2nd behind the Antilles School from St. Thomas, USVI, just missing out on the top spot to advance to the National High School Keelboat Regatta.
The team then traveled to Jensen Beach for the South Points 2 Regatta on October 20. With a great team effort, Shorecrest finished 2nd out of 26 schools in Varsity & finished 1st out of 15 schools in JV!
Guthrie Braun and Thomas Cura '21 were 2nd in the A division for Varsity, and Elizabeth S and Karlie Kongsiri '19 were 4th in the B division. In JV, Ethan D and Zach Ofenloch '19 won the A division and Heidi Hicks '21 and Aspen Slavick-Gierlach '22 won the B division. All the sailors sailed well with no races outside of the top 10.
Next up for the team is South Points 3, December 8 in Sarasota.
