Viewing Electron Configurations

Shorecrest tenth graders in Mr. Burkett's chemistry class have been learning about electron configurations, which are descriptions of how electrons are arranged within atoms and ions. This week, students observed differences in electron configurations by introducing metal ions to a flame. The variety of different colors observed were a result of varying electron configurations.< /p>
