Lower School Spanish partners with US Spanish Club

Upper School News

Shorecrest's Upper School Spanish Club has partnered with the Lower School Spanish teachers to help out in the Lower school Spanish classes. The Lower School Spanish teachers, Señora Jaime-Allwood and Señora Celeste Verastegui, send lessons to the Spanish Club volunteers in advance, so students can come prepared to work with Lower School students one-on-one.

The project started last Tuesday and will continue weekly in and around the Lower school Spanish classrooms. This project supports Shorecrest’s cross-divisional interaction, as well as one of the Missions of the Spanish Club - promoting Spanish language.

“The teachers were so welcoming, the material was very interesting, and the kids were very sweet,” Noëlle de Wilde ‘24 said.

Thomas Boals ‘24 said, “Working with the young students helps me refresh some vocabulary I learned long ago and had forgotten.”

“This is amazing! A sense of community, a spirit of service and definitely the spirit of leadership our students apply at Shorecrest is just amazing! Bravo Upper School friends!” exclaimed Señora Jaime-Allwood.
