GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS DISTRICT CHAMPS!

Upper School News


The Shorecrest Varsity Girls Tennis team squeezed out runner-up Calvary Christian to win the District 4A Championship, April 13-14. Out of seven teams total, the top 3 final scores were Shorecrest 21, Calvary Christian (CV) 19, and Clearwater Central Catholic (CCC) 18. The Chargers are now repeated as the District Champions, and 5 girls won individual District Championships. 

Kareena Dua ’23 was seeded 2nd in 1 Girls Singles. Kareena coasted to the semi-finals, but lost to the #1 seed from CCC in the final.  

Olivia J ‘27, the 2nd seed in 2 Girls Singles, narrowly lost in the first round. She and Kareena won decisively in the 1st round of 1 Girls Doubles, but lost to #1 seed CCC in the semi-finals.

Lucille P ’28 was seeded #1 in 3 Girls Singles. She won 3 matches for the Championship. Lucille teamed with Lauren Majeski ’22 for 2 Girls Doubles. Although they were seeded 2nd, they handily beat #1 seed CV for the Championship.

Alex M ‘26, #2 seed in 4 Girls Singles, fought hard for her victory over Tampa Prep, and won the Championship.

Addy Cohoon ’25, the #1 seed in 5 Girls Singles, secured a solid win over #2 seed CV for the Championship.

Overall the Girls Team won 4 Championships. All of the Chargers competed hard and made teamwork their priority. The results say it all!  

They move on to Regional Semi-Finals.
