LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS HELPS STUDENTS REGISTER TO VOTE

Upper School News

In conjunction with National Voters Registration Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating our democracy, Shorecrest Upper School's Interact Club welcomed the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area (LWVSPA) to campus. The group helped students pre-register/register to vote. LWVSPA is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Did you know a 16-year-old who is a US Citizen can pre-register to vote? Once the student turns 18 they get their Voter ID card in the mail.

This important opportunity helped to further develop student civic engagement.
