Seventh graders created Greek masks this week as part of their unit on theatre history in Ms. Nelson's theatre class. The students chose a mask that they liked. They formed the character's faces out of Papier-mâché on balloons. They will add the exaggerated features with mouths that help amplify the sound necessary to be heard by the thousands of audience members who would be present for the Festival honoring Dionysus. Once the masks are complete, students will have the characters interact (socially distanced) in a Greek chorus format.
