NOAA Art Contest Winner - Betty L. '26

Arts

Congratulations to Betty L. '26 for her winning entry in the NOAA Marine Debris Program’s Annual Art Contest! After being informed about marine debris, eighth graders drew submissions for NOAA's annual art contest to reach K-8 students and help raise awareness about marine debris. Betty's was selected as a winner based on creativity, artistic presentation, and relevance to the theme. She also had to write about how marine debris impacts oceans and lakes, and how she is helping to prevent marine debris.

Her artwork is now on the cover of their 2023  calendar, which provides a daily reminder of how important it is for us to be responsible stewards of the ocean.

Betty's entry can be viewed on NOAA's website and blog.
