Boys Varsity Basketball + Senior Night
January 30, 2015
Chargers vs Indian Rocks, 1/23, 77-62 Win
The Chargers couldn’t pull away leading only 40-31 at the half. Indian Rocks always tough hat home kept it close with a pesky zone and it took more patience from your Chargers to break down the zone. Devin and Brady eventually bust their zone with long range bombs, Brady going 4-7 from beyond the arc and Devin going 4-8. The Chargers were able to push the lead over 20 in the 4th and cruise to the win. Brady had 23 on the night and Devin and Kent added 12 each. Marcus had 10 on the night, slowed with fouls. Colin was our leading rebounder from the guard position with 8 boards and Tyee had 7.
Charers vs St Pete Catholic, 1/24, 77-62 Win
Our 2nd game in a 3 game in 3 day stretch and having already clinched the district, this game would prove to be tough to put away. The Chargers only led 25-17 after 1 and 44-34 at half against a team that we blew out 3 weeks ago. But the Barons played with reckless abandon and their point guard was scoring from all over to keep the game close. The Chargers never really had their patented 10-0 surge, but just kept gradually tacking on. On the night Brady had 5-3’s to put up 31 points and Marcus and Kent added 13.
Chargers vs Plant High School, 1/25 54-53 Loss
The Chargers were showing the effects of 3 games in 3 days and Marcus & Brady taking the SAT in the am. You still just had the feel the Chargers were one run from breaking open the game. Leading by 4 at a couple times of the game in the 2nd half we were never able to sustain the momentum. Brady played very little getting in early foul trouble and then getting a couple touch calls to go out early in the 4th. But still the Chargers got a steal with 15 seconds to go up one, only to turn the ball back over and get up a 3 pointer. Still able to have 3 shots to win the game late, it wasn’t meant to be. We try to not lose site of why we play these large public schools, so we can be tested and ready come playoff time. For the game Marcus had 17 points, Tyee had 11 and Kent had 10 points for the game.

Senior Night 1/27
At our last regular season home game we honored our seniors including Brady G, Kenny D, Jake S, Parker L and Kyle B.
Brady not only celebrated senior night, but also had his 1,000 point on the this special evening! To make it more amazing he amassed his 1,000 point in 2 short years averaging 22 ppg last season and over 18 ppg this season! He was the key leader in taking the team to the State Final 4 last season and looks to take the team far this season.
Kenny D in his 3rd season has been one of our top 3-point shooters since he stepped on the court. His range forces teams to pick us up at 30- feet.
Jake S has been a dedicated fixture at Shorecrest and has gotten better every year.
Parker L. has played a limited role after having back surgery in the off-season and was shut down during mid-season from related issues.
Kyle B. passed away in June of 2012 and was loved for his dedication and team commitment.
The Class of 2015 will be sorely missed and have been a big part of Shorecrest Basketball. Thank you seniors!

Chargers vs Osceola, 1/27, 64-45 Win
The game stayed reasonably close in the first half. Brady got his 1,000 point at the end of the 1st quarter and the team seemed too focused more on Brady’s accomplishment, which is truly amazing. The team went to work in the 2nd half and build the lead up to 20 and cruise to their 17th win. Brady led the team in scoring with 17, Kent had 11 and Devin had 8. Kenny D one of our seniors added a 3 pointer and Jake S dropped in 2 long range bombs in the win.
