Chargers vs. Cambridge Christian, Jan. 29, 5:0 Win
The Chargers continue their advance after defeating the Lancers from Cambridge Christian on Thursday’s regional quarter final playoffs. (A couple of days ago, they stopped Haskell Field’s clock early, defeating the Lancers 8:0 for the Bay Conference Title!)
The game started a bit shaky for the Chargers, who apparently underestimated the opponent who came strong and well motivated. Slowly the Chargers began to gain traction and a few of minutes before the water break, a good combination between Chris L. and KJ N. brought the first goal. The second goal came after 37 minutes of play by KJ N., assist by Cooper W. The third goal was at the end of first half, after a well executed combination between Luke P., Chris L, and Kobi M. and finalized by Jake D.
The second half was dominated by the Chargers who missed a couple of good chances in front of the Lancer’s goal. However, Taylor D. was accurate twice, assisted by Luke P. for the first goal and Kofi F. and Thibault P. for the second. It was an overall good game for the Chargers, who are facing Calvary Christian at home on Tuesday Feb. 3rd for the regional semifinals.
