Sailing's First Regatta

Six returning members from last year’s highly successful Shorecrest Chargers Sailing Team and eight new members traveled to Davis Island Yacht Club last Saturday for the first of seven Regattas for the 2015-2016 season. Josh D with Crew Peninah B finished 6th in the A division while Hannah S with crew Andrea R finished 4th in the hotly contested B division, just 2 points out of first place. Overall the Chargers finished 5th in the 24-team regatta.
In the JV division, the Chargers finished 6th overall in the 13-team JV Regatta. Freshman Elizabeth S sailed to a 6thplace finish in JV A Division while Anika B finished 10th in the B Division. All of the new team members had an opportunity to sail as JV crews, and the future looks bright for the young Shorecrest Team!
