Chargers Sailing at North Points 6 Regatta

Six members of the Shorecrest Chargers Sailing Team traveled to Lake Norman, North Carolina, for the two day North Points 6 regatta last weekend. The intent was to experience the venue for the upcoming Districts Championships in late April, and to sail against the Northern teams in SAISA conference who Shorecrest seldom sails against until the Districts.
Seventeen teams from NC, SC, GA and FL attended. The Varsity teams of Josh D with crew Andrea P, and Hannah S. with crew Lily S, both won their divisions to combine for a 13 point lead over the second place team. In addition the JV team of Kyle D and Elizabeth S handily won the JV Division.

The sailing team spends the next six weeks practicing for the upcoming District Championships as well the Team Racing Championships at which Shorecrest won the National Championships last year.
