April 23

Shorecrest 8, Bradenton Christian 6

Shorecrest collected 11 hits in their 8-6 win over Bradenton Christian. Owen Harris, Ashton Reynolds and JC Barrott all had two hits each to lead the Chargers. Alex Alvarez was the winning pitcher, going 5 innings, not giving up a run and struck out 6. Aidan Counsman and Will Newton both came out of the bullpen to close the game in relief.

 

April 17

Shorecrest 14, St. Pete Catholic 7

Shorecrest nabbed the lead late in the game in a 14-7 victory over SPC. The game was tied at 6 with the Chargers batting in the top of the 5th when Owen Harris singled on a 1-1 count, scoring 2 runs. The team collected 5 more runs in the 6th inning, led by a walk to Ben Berner, a single by Will Rutledge and a double by Harris. Will Newton earned the win for the Chargers, lasting 4 innings, not giving up a hit and striking out 10 batters. Jake Densa threw 2 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Shorecrest collected 15 hits during the game – Harris, Newton, Ashton Reynolds, Rutledge, MacIntosh Webber and JC Barrott all managed multiple hits for the team and stole 8 bases in the win.

 

April 16

Shorecrest 7, Indian Rocks Christian 8

The Chargers lost a heartbreak to IRCS, losing the lead late in the game. Shorecrest was up 6-5 in the top of the 6th when IRCS scored 2 runs to take the lead. The team collected 14 hits with Owen Harris, Brendan Smith, Will Newton, Will Forney and Jack Zikmund all racking up multiple hits. Alex Alvarez started the game, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing 5 runs on 3 hits and not walking a single batter.
