Shorecrest Sophomore named Community Volunteer of the Year
PARC, a Shorecrest community partner and St. Petersburg-based organization that provides programs and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, recently presented Shorecrest student Chris Manings '22 with their 2019 Community Volunteer of the Year Award.
The award goes to a volunteer who has made a significant contribution of time and effort for PARC through community outreach, events, and/or involving groups or youth volunteers with PARC.
"For his dedication in supporting PARC through numerous community events, and advocating for the population PARC serves, Chris Manings has demonstrated he is a leader among PARC volunteers. He is truly deserving of this award and we are so grateful for his contributions!" enthused Andrea M. Castañeda, PARC Director of Community Relations and Volunteers.
Chris, who often plays guitar and sings at Shorecrest and at PARC, closed out February 2020 at Ruth Eckerd Hall opening for country band Little Big Town and classic rock band Little River Band.
