What a treat it was to have guest expert, Dr. George Canizares, visit first grade and teach us about the skeleton and bones. He brought hand and foot models, a femur model and some of the tools he uses during surgery to help people who have broken bones.
The students also learned that we have twelve ribs on each side of our body, that our leg and arm bones are almost identical and our bones make the blood in our body.
Do you know how many bones are in your body? If you pass a first grader around campus, ask them. They can teach you!
