Third and Fourth graders had special visitors this week in Spanish class. Maria Luisa V, an Upper School exchange student from Chile, visited. She spoke to the students about her country, culture, family and school. The children asked her many questions, and some were in complete Spanish! They really enjoyed María Luisa's visit, and it was a great way to practice their Spanish.
They also had special guests from Peru. Two Shorecrest moms from Peru came to our classroom and talked to the kids about el CHULLO. This is a typical hat from Peru, and the children each made one to take home! They learned new words in Spanish and learned about the Peruvian culture.
It was a wonderful experience for them to learn more things about Latin American countries and culture!
