Students in third grade just completed as introduction science unit on the scientific method and how to carry out a science experiment. The group wondered what would happen if Mentos were dropped into bottles of soda. The children had to hypothesize which soda (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Diet Sprite) would create the biggest chemical reaction. After completing the experiment, the students thought about the results and had to determine whether their hypothesis was correct or not.
