This week, the kindergarten teachers and students gathered together for a special grade level morning meeting to kick off our new study, "Healthy You." In this morning meeting, students greeted one another with a fun, categorical greeting. Questions like, "Are you wearing blue shoes?" or "Do you have on tan shorts or skirts?" were asked and those friends belonging to the category walked to the middle of our circle to shake hands and say "good morning" to a friend.
Next, kindergarteners played a game of Simon Says, reinforcing the parts of the body. Then everyone sang a new version of "If You're Happy and You Know it," changing the word happy to healthy!
Tips were shared of the different way we know to be healthy. Ideas like taking vitamins, drinking lots of water, and eating healthy foods were shared.

In the Healthy You Project, students will be driven by the question, "What does it mean to live a healthy life?" Kindergarten classes will focus in on what it means to live a healthy life and learn ways each child can improve their habits to make stronger healthy living choices! They will study topics such as having healthy friendships, eating healthy foods, personal hygiene, exercise and more!
