Important Dates:PowerSchool Learning vs Haiku
In June 2016, PowerSchool, the #1 provider of K-12 education technology solutions, acquired Haiku Learning. Our Haiku system and teacher pages have been renamed as PowerSchool Learning. A login is required to use PowerSchool Learning, and the information has been emailed to all Shorecrest parents.
Event Parking
When there is an event on campus during the school day and many parents are invited and need parking spaces, an event parking area is opened on the soccer field across from the main Admin building (the wood building which houses Mike Murphy's office and Admissions.) There will be a sign stating "Event Parking" when weather permits and the field is open. Look for parking here during special events such as Poetry in the Park or during student performance.
Shorecrest Directories
After Labor Day, printed copies of the Shorecrest Directory, which will contain class lists and contact information for Shorecrest families and faculty will be distributed. Until then, you can access family contact information through FAM. Quick links to find FAM and PowerSchool Learning (formerly Haiku) are at the top of the Parents page of Shorecrest.org.

Six Day Class Rotation Schedule
Students need time to learn deeply, think, make connections and apply their learning. One of the reasons we implemented a six day rotating schedule this year was to allow for deeper learning. We found that with all our wonderful specials we offer, students were transitioning frequently; their flow of learning was being disrupted. With the new schedule, (A, B, C, D, E, and F days) students have more time for the work in the classroom as well as more time in a given special.
Band
Fourth grade students can take band this year. We will provide an opportunity for the students to be exposed to the instruments before they need to choose which one they would like to study, but it would be great if you could have a conversation with your child as well. Students will perform in the Winter Concert along with the Middle and Upper School bands.
Little League Fall Ball
Shorecrest partners with local little leagues including NELL and Fossil Park to support our young student athletes.
Students in first - sixth grades can join Cub Scouts. Scouts meet on the first Tuesday of the month, and the first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 5, 3:00 – 4:30pm at the Lower School picnic tables. Learn more here: https://www.shorecrestebytes.c om/page/news-detail?pk=941681
Book Buddies
