Campus Cleanup

Lower School News

On March 14, 2018, kindergarteners and eighth graders at Shorecrest Preparatory School partnered with Keep Pinellas Beautiful to clean the campus. As a result of "adopting" the one-mile radius around the Shorecrest campus, there will be 4 campus clean-up dates in 2018.

The students, teachers, and representatives from Keep Pinellas Beautiful gathered in the Lower School quad and then spread out for the cleanup. A few eighth grade teams were at the back of campus by the channel and along First Street, and the rest of the eighth graders worked with kindergarteners to hunt for trash all over campus. The Chargers collected 47.5 lbs of trash!

“The eighth graders really enjoyed the adventure!” eighth grade marine science teacher Kathryn Jeakle shared.

Kindergarten teacher Megan Kotsko said, “The six eighth grade students I had in my group were outstanding with the kindergarteners. They called them by name, praised them, asked them questions, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their time together.”

“It was a joy to watch our students work together this morning” reported Dominique Craft, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction for the Experiential and Lower Schools.
