Kindergarten End-of-Year Poem

Lower School News

Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Cameron found a end-of-school-year poem online and shared it with her class. Together they added some Charger-specific stanzas and presented the poem to Lower School, faculty, family and friends at the last Town Meeting of the 2021-2022 school year.

(The first three stanzas were written by another author. The rest is by the Chargers.)

Kindergarten End-of-Year Poem
It seems like only yesterday
Was when we first arrived
A nervous face on the first day
With wonder in our eyes.

Our room has lots of colors,
Shapes, and charts too
Alphabet and numbers
Scissors, tape, and glue.

We learned about our classroom
And how to be polite
Social studies, science, math
And how to read and write.

And don’t forget phonics
The daily lessons we’ll never forget
Healthy living– taking care of us
And of course the power of yet.

“Cubre tu boca,” Mrs. Cameron would say.
We learned Español with Señora.
We also had PE nearly every day.
Art was a favorite where we’d create and play.

La La La La La, oh the songs we would sing!
Ms. Marilyn was amazing
And our teachers ears would ring.
On Monday to the library our books we would bring
And every other Friday, we learned some tech things.

While we don’t know everything
We certainly know a lot!
Now we’re ready for summer
Days long and hot.

We wish you an amazing summer too
Full of fun and smiles.
We’ll miss these times with all of you
But we’ll be back in just a short while.
